1. What inspired you to get into this industry?
I've always been interested in modeling, singing, dancing, the whole bit. I
never really tried pursuing a career in any of it because I didn't know if I had
the potential to do so. I started bartending when I was 18 and I was in a
charity fashion show for breast cancer, and a few photographers contacted me
after that. I tried it out, and I really loved it. Some people build cars, or
knit, or play sports, and it's almost the same thing. You want to keep improving
until you can get it just right. I love trying to get the perfect shot. When a
photographer tells me what look they're going for, I try to do the best that I
can to get what they want. It's a goal that you have and it's awesome when you
accomplish it.
2. How long have you been modeling?
I've been modeling for 2 and a half years roughly.
3. Who is your favorite model?
Carissa Rosario. I absolutely love her. She is so naturally beautiful and
she's so passionate about everything she does. She's a great model to look up
to. She's down to earth, level headed and real. Of coarse she's stunningly
gorgeous but you can tell she's an honest to goodness good person. When you hear
the word 'model' you automatically assume that they're stuck up and full of
themselves, but she has a good head on her shoulders and I think that's
something a lot of famous people forgot to do. They let the spotlight take over
and they let themselves get lost in it. She's done a great job of not letting
that happen to her and that's something to be proud of and look up to.
4. Tell us something random about yourself.
Everyone thinks I'm just like a lot of my friends. I'm not very girly. I like
dressing up and doing girly things but a lot of people refer to me as 'one of
the boys'. I love camping, fishing, being outside, and getting my hands dirty. I
used to ride dirt bikes for a long time. I don't like receiving flowers, or any
gift for that matter. I'm very independent!
5. What are you most proud of?
I'm proud of the fact that I've done everything on my own. In general, and in
this industry. I didn't go out and find an agent to set up any of the projects
that I've done. Photographers approach me to work with them and if I like their
work, then I agree to. A lot of girls I know will take any photoshoot they can
get. Even if it's just some guy with an iPhone. I'm very cautious because I know
how the industry is. I try to be smart about the things I do and who I work
with. I won't do a shoot just because. I work with the photographer and discuss
ideas and try to nail them dead on. I like to think that I too have a good head
on my shoulders and I hope that will take me further with everything I want to
achieve.
6. Upcoming projects?
I have a shoot with Loud Luxury coming up, as well
as a few music videos. I also plan to do more promotional work this summer.
Hopefully I can do more work outside of Windsor and Sarnia. I have plans in
Toronto and potentially Vegas :)
7. When it's all said and done, what do you want to be remembered as?
When it's all said and done, I want to be remembered as the girl who smiled
through it all. Times get tough but you need to keep your head up and know that
everything happens for a reason and everything eventually works out. If I don't
make it in the industry, that's okay. I'm going to try my best and work hard for
what I want and I'm going to have fun with it. I've been through a lot already
so I'm good with criticism. I don't let things get to me, so I'm going to see
where the wind takes me and I'm going to have a blast doing it. I'm going to
have to work hard and I'm willing to give it everything I have. If things don't
work out, I'll know I did my best and had a blast doing it :)
8. Additional Comments?
Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.
